Why this one is different

Every other free compressor uploads your document to a server and asks you to trust a retention policy. This one has nothing to promise : the work happens on your machine, so there is no copy to keep.

Nothing is uploaded

The file is read straight from your disk into the page. Open your browser network tab and watch : no request is made.

Nothing is stored

We never receive the document, so there is no retention window, no deletion timer, and nothing of yours in a breach.

Works offline

Turn off your wifi and compress anyway. The whole tool is a few hundred kilobytes of code running in your tab.

Questions

Which formats are supported?

PDF pages come out as JPG or PNG images, or as text in a .docx or .txt file. The other way round, JPG and PNG images become one PDF, and a CSV becomes a readable table. Conversions that must keep the original layout, like a faithful PDF to Word, need a rendering engine on a server : that would mean uploading your document, so this tool does not pretend to do them.

Do you keep a copy of my file?

No. The conversion runs inside your browser tab, so the file is never transmitted and there is nothing for us to store. Open your devtools Network tab and watch : no request is made.

Why is my converted image large?

A page rendered at 150 DPI is a big picture. Drop the resolution, or pick JPG instead of PNG : PNG is lossless and much heavier on photos and scans.
